Red Carpet Style: 2010 Emmy Awards
If you haven’t already checked out the looks from this year’s Emmy Award show, come along with me! There were so many hits, and of course one too many misses (I’m looking at you, Tina Fey). I went ahead and selected three trends that I think translate well to bridal style.
Sparkle: Sure we see tons of beading, crystal and rhinestones on wedding gowns, but what about some sparkle? Just a little on the bodice, a sleeve, or hemline could be really amazing.
Grecian: Goddess-inspired styles are always in style when it comes to bridal looks. Rose Byrne and Kim Kardashian kicked it up a notch by throwing in a little metal and gold, respectively.
Luxe Texture: Similar to what we saw with Chelsea Clinton’s wedding gown, there were plenty of rich textures on the red carpet last night. Not so much ruching, not quite ruffles – varying cascades of fabric makes a beautiful statement on a dress.
Bright Pastels: That doesn’t sound like it would make sense, but both Keri Russell and Katrina Bowden rocked hues that were brighter versions of the pastels we saw at the Oscars earlier this year. These cheery shades would be perfect for bridesmaid dresses and complementary colors.
