Adopt a Classroom!
It’s that time of the year again – everyone is thinking about going back to school. It’s also a time to think about the children that live in areas affected by natural disasters or really bad economic conditions. That makes it hard for them to have all the fun colorful school supplies that kids in more stable areas have. Many teachers spend a whole lot of their own money to purchase supplies for their classrooms, and it’s a really good feeling to lend a helping hand.
I have been working with Adopt-a-Classroom for a little over a year and it has been such a rewarding experience. Last year after sending a big box of crayons, pencils, art supplies and other fun items for a first grade class in South Dakota, I received a big envelope full of thank-you notes from the kids – it was the cutest thing ever!
If you’d like to help, go to the Adopt a Classroom Website where you can make donations or send a box of supplies directly to a teacher in need.
